New OSR Products at RPGNow/DTRPG — February 28th, 2016

Also known as Leap Day's Eve. It's a busy week for adventures, including two products with genuine dungeons from the golden era of gaming.

And for 0e, WOTC released Supplement IV: Gods, Demigods, and Heroes

Adventures

The Habitation of the Stone Giant -  This is a compilation of 8 adventures written (and illustrated) by young D&D players back in the day. 114 pages, $5

The Northlands Series 1, 2, and 3 -  A series of Pathfinder modules converted to Swords & Wizardry.  $4.99 and about 20 pages each.

Towers Two -  Part of my disenchantment with Lamentations of the Flame Princess was that i was expecting something like Heavy Metal (the magazine) and instead got some whiny, artsy-angsty stuff. Well, this seems to be what Lamentations of the Flame Princess should be (at least in my view), written by the late Dave Brockie of GWAR. 117 pages and $9.99 and apparently not for the easily offended.

Underport: Abyssal Descent -  This is a genuine vintage mega-dungeon dating back to the late 70s and early 80s. 81 pages, $10

World of the Lost - This is a lost world style hex crawl for LotFP and like the Two Twoers, seems more gonzo than angsty. 181 pages, $9.99

Rules

The Angel - New S&W character class. 99 cents, 5 pages

The Prophet - New S&W character class. 99 cents, 5 pages.

Misc

B/X Character Record - Nice B/X character sheet. Pay What You Want

Old School Interviews - A compilation of interviews by Shane Ward of the 3 Toadstools Blog. Free

The Complete The Oracle - This is a compilation of all the issues of the fanzine, The Oracle which was produced back in the early 80s, plus a new, modern issue. 318 pages, $5. (Didn't this come out?)

New Hyperborean adventure Kickstater — The Mystery at Port Greely

Yeah yeah yeah, started a few days ago. And like usual, North Wind's Kickstarters are funded almost immediately

Until recently, the peculiar village of Port Greely was renowned as one of the most prolific exporters of crustaceans in the realm. Then, about three years ago, the Greely lobstermen severed all ties with outside partners. Subsequent attempts at renegotiation were shunned. More recently, a small group of Fishmongers’ Guild representatives from the City-State of Khromarium has gone missing in Port Greely, and answers have been less than forthcoming. At present, the guild seeks answers. They want to know what became of their representatives, and they wish to reestablish their lucrative partnership with the Port Greely lobstermen. Your party has been contracted to help resolve the mystery at Port Greely.

I'm guessing deep ones, but that could be too obvious. Then again, looking at the sample art, it sure looks like deep ones.

New OSR Products at RPGNow/DTRPG — February 21st, 2016

Whole lot of stuff this week. Mostly new character classes (which I'm sure have been playtested extensively, right?) and Microlite variations, but some other stuff as well.

Eldritch Wizardry is also available for $4.99

Adventures

Hexed Places - The Sand Coast - Hex crawl. I really need to buy one of these to see what they are like 15 pages, $2.69

Moans of Dead - low level adventure for S&W. 14 pages, $3.95

The Last Prayer of the Dying - 1st level adventure that seems to be a semi-sandbox. 88 pages, $4.99 and was apparently Kickstarted, so presumably had decent art.

The Slavers of Mareshdale - This says it's an introductory for OSR games and Monsters and Magic, but the stat blocks in the sample don't look very OSRish. 54 pages, $6.99

Rules

Magic Item Drop Table -  Not sure how this works exactly, but it's a chart to help generate magic items for NPCs. Free.

Microlite81 - Based on B/X, but lite. PWYW

Microlite81 Advanced -  variation of above. PWYW

Microlite81 Extended - variation of above. PWYW

Microlite 81 Complete - Like above, but more so

The Champion - S&W class. 99 cents

The Courier - S&W class. 99 cents

The Prey - S&W class about a giant insect. 99 cents

Anyway, he needs help with expenses and the Goblinoid Games guy set up a GoFundMe with his (and other some companies like Barrel Rider Games, Faster Monkey, Task Boy Games, Mithgarr, Lesser Gnome) products.
